About My Pottery Classes
My approach to teaching pottery focuses on creating a relaxed environment where people feel comfortable exploring clay work, regardless of their previous experience with ceramics.
I offer two types of pottery classes to suit different preferences. Pottery painting sessions work perfectly for groups wanting immediate results and take-home pieces.
Mini workshops appeal to those seeking deeper involvement in the pottery process, from initial shaping through to final glazing. Both formats include all materials and refreshments.
Teaching Style
Every pottery session I run is designed to be accessible and enjoyable. I believe that working with clay should be therapeutic and rewarding, which is why I keep group sizes small at just 10 people maximum. This allows me to provide individual attention whilst maintaining the social aspect that makes pottery classes so popular for celebrations and group activities.
Personal Approach
Rather than following rigid lesson plans, I adapt each session to match the group's interests and skill levels. Some participants want to create practical items they can use at home, whilst others prefer decorative pieces or sentimental keepsakes. My role is to guide everyone through the process whilst letting their creativity flow naturally.
Studio Background
My pottery journey began years ago, and I've developed my skills through continuous practice and experimentation with different pottery techniques. The studio reflects this ongoing learning process, with various glazes, tools and equipment that I use daily in my own ceramic work. When groups visit, they're stepping into an active workspace where pottery creation happens every day.
